Recorded March 29 Online Open House Available for Viewing

The recorded March 29 online open house featuring Greg Kall, Systems Vice President and CIO for Information Technology & Services at Summa Health Systems is now available for viewing at http://bit.ly/HealthInformatics29march.  Mr. Kall discussed the current and future landscapes of health information technology and health informatics.  Michael Bice and Janna Korzenko discussed the options for study in the health informatics program as well as admissions.  Students interested in study in the health informatics program should touch base with Professor Bice at mbice3@kent.edu.

Founders Gala Honors Donor's Development of Curriculum

Prominently noted during the 2011 Founders Gala celebration was the donation Samuel B. Holcman made to Kent State University's new School of Digital Sciences.  The annual Founders Gala honors the university's most general individual and corporate donors and the impact their gifts have on students, faculty and progress of Kent State.

Holcman's gift will allow students to pursue a first-in-the-nation concentration in enterprise architecture at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

10th IAKM anniversary celebration

The 10th anniversary of the Information Architecture and Knowledge Management program was celebrated onNovember 29.

The brief program featured Stan Wearden, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Communication and Information and Don A. Wicks, Ph.D., Interim Director of the School of Library and Information Science. Thomas J. Froehlich, Ph.D., was honored for providing inspiration and leadership for the program.

IAKM also announced the Thomas J. Froehlich award for academic excellence and promise for leadership in the field as well as its first IAKM alumnus of the year award.
