Prospective Students

Making the decision to enter graduate school is difficult enough without having to dig and dig for information about various programs. Following are a few tips on making your decision, and finding information.

Why Graduate School? Why IAKM?
Graduate School is for those who have a particular interest in a specific subject and wish to study beyond the undergraduate level or, as in the case of those in IAKM, for those who have discovered a career path for which a master's degree in the appropriate area could give them an advantage over the competition.

The Career Services Center on Kent Campus provides counseling for those students looking to make their next career decision, whether it is for a job search or choosing a graduate program. They also have information on the web to help prospective students think through their decision.

If graduate school is part of your future, contacting Janna Korzenko is a good next step. Janna can help you figure out if IAKM and all its options are the right fit for your future.

IAKM Site Tips
Throughout this site there are Quick Links boxes that will help you find information that should be of interest based on the particular page on which you've landed.

The Programs section contains information on the different program options offered through IAKM including, the full Master of Science (42 credit hours), the Multiple Degree Options (60 credit hours), and the Online KM Certificate (18 credit hours). Within these topics, students can find information about the different concentrations of study: information architecture, information use, and knowledge management.

The Courses section is the place to find all information about the classes offered by IAKM including course descriptions, course offering rotation, course schedules, and course resources.

You can get information about the different people affiliated with IAKM including faculty, staff, current students, and alumni in the People section of the site.

The Apply section offers access to forms and general information about applying to IAKM. This is the first stop for information on what is required for admission and how to submit the application. Financial aid information can also be found here.

Current students, new students and prospective students shouldl find the Student Services section most helpful because it has access to guidance pages, approval forms, and the student handbook. New students and prospective students can get a sense of the procedures involved in getting through the IAKM program.

The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section provides answers to commonly asked questions by current and prospective students. The Application FAQ, Financial Aid FAQ and Relocation FAQ are pagesthat may be of particular help to prospective students.
